The Rocky Mountain Region in conjunction with the National EGA has several educational opportunities available to the membership.

The National EGA offers Individual Correspondence Courses for members of the EGA.  The courses range in length from 3 steps to 12 steps for a certificate of completion.  Please see The 2007-2008 Education Catalog for classes, details and an application form.

The National EGA offers Group Correspondence Courses for members of the EGA.  A group is limited to 21 participants who are members of the guild.  The fees vary depending on the number of people participating.  Please see The 2007-2008 Education Catalog for details and courses available.   Group Correspondence Courses offered by National are also available through Needle Arts magazine and the EGA National Web site.   Application forms are available in the Education Catalog, on line, or in the NeedleArts magazine.

The Rocky Mountain Region of the EGA offers 2 Group Correspondence Courses per year for members of the Rocky Mountain Region.  These Correspondence Courses are sponsored by region for region members.  The region board chooses from the current Group Correspondence Courses offered by National.  The Region pays part of the costs for the students.  Currently, the group is stitching  Swiss Sampler  by Ilse Altherr.   The finished pieces by the registered students are due to the Education Chair On January 3, 2008 so they can be sent to Ilse for critique.

The next Correspondence Course to be offered by The Rocky Mountain Region will be The Handy Huswif  by Cathy Trostmann.  Registration for this class opens Sept 1, 2007 and all registration forms and registration fees must be in Marthann Simpson's hand by November 1, 2007.  Postmarks do not count.  The fee for the class is $35.00.  The student is also responsible for her own supplies and postage to ship the finished piece  to the education chair so the pieces can be sent for critique by the teacher.   A detailed description of the class is on page 38 of The 2007-2008 Education Catalog.  Students will receive their texts about January 2, 2008, and will be given approximately six months to stitch the piece before shipping for critique.
