103 In the Mood Blue

Technique is Needlepoint

Kit cost is $65.00 or $95.00----partial piece or whole piece

Student Level:  Advanced intermediate

Teacher:  Marnie Ritter

Ten composite canvas patterns with an important message --- open canvas patterns and color concepts.  Texture is the next addition created by the choice of varied over dyed silks, Serica, varied metallics, Trebizond, perlee, other silks, ribbons and numerous beads chosen in warm colors from families of sage, rose, burgundy, key lime, teal, periwinkle and Flemish blue.  A pattern worked over French lace and the addition of your very own initials in an area makes this design uniquely your own.  These patterns are surrounded with golden care.  It's math - it's geometry but most of all it's fun!  The further bonus will be discussion during class about the history and meaning of BLUE.

This project is worked on #18 antique blue canvas.  It is 6"x11" or 11"x11" depending on the version you choose.  The student has the option of purchasing the four day design kit/instructions for $95.00.
